Ever thought about trying church?

Recent research from the Bible Society has shown that between 2018 and 2024 there has been a significant increase in church attendance in the UK - particularly among young adults (18-24 years old) where attendance has risen from 4% to 16%.

The report showed that churchgoers have higher life satisfaction, greater community connection, and lower levels of anxiety and depression.

A significant factor in the growth of church attendance, was that the people ‘trying church’ had been invited by a friend.

We want to invite you, friend, to ‘TRY CHURCH’ with us at Christ Church Surbiton Hill.

when and where?

We’d love for you to join us on Sunday 11th January at Christ Church (8 Christ Church Road, KT5 8JJ), from 10.30am - 12 midday.

What’s involved and who is it for?

Try Church Sunday is for everyone - but we particularly want to invite those who do not regularly attend church to join us.

The service will include contemporary songs led by a band (you aren’t required to sing if you don’t want to), prayer, stories of hope from members at Christ Church, and a clearly explained talk from the bible.

There is no ‘dress code’, so please feel free to ‘wear whatever you like’, and you will not be asked to do anything you aren’t comfortable with.

What’s on for children & young people?

There will be groups for children and young people aged from 2.5 years old to 14 years old, and there will be a creche available for any under 2’s. In the creche there is a TV with a livestream to our service so that any adults in the room can stay connected with what’s going on.

Families are asked to register any children and/or young people before the service in our foyer area, and the children and young people join the adults in the main service for the first 15 minutes before going into their groups. This will be explained clearly from the stage.

What’s on after the service?

We’d love to invite you to stay around after the service for some food and refreshments; as well as to connect with some people.

You are welcome to stay for as little or as long as you like.

There is no need to ‘sign up’ beforehand - you can just turn up on the day.
